​In these testing times, there has never been a greater need for selflessness and consideration, and celebrating our heroes, never more important. This year we are honored to present our Andrew K Dwyer Award to Steve Kroll. Steve has been one of the pillars of the Foundation, a constant, volunteering where and when needed, providing ever present financial support, and most importantly constant encouragement and much appreciated advice. A big personality, quick to laugh, Steve brings an energy to whatever he does and wherever he goes, he is just fun to be around, and you know when he is in a room. But with this Award we celebrate his dedication to others and his quiet unnoticed selflessness. Steve never has sought credit for his generosity in time, effort, or money, he has just wanted to support. Since inception Steve has organized our tennis activities at Doggday, helped us with the auction, and has never missed doing the little things that make Doggday a success. And while Doggday was a particular favorite to Steve, there is literally no end to the causes he has supported. So in this year of the pandemic when there will be no Doggday, we hope you will all take a moment and say a little thank you to Steve for all he has done for so many, and in particular helping us enable the AKD Foundation to help so many.
