Harlem Academy was founded by Vincent Dotoli in 2004 with a mission to support gifted, low-income children whose potential might other wise go unrealized. Last year’s graduating 8th grade class entered Harlem Academy at the 71st percentile and graduated at the 88th percentile, gaining 17 points during their time with us. This tremendous growth meant that every graduate matriculated to a selective secondary school, most with full-need scholarships to Independent school including Andover, Kent, Riverdale and Spence.
The AKDF has funded two scholarships at Harlem Academy since 2008.
