The weather cooperated, 92 golfers (a record), 16 tennis players, and dozens of supporters met for lunch and an afternoon of camaraderie, competition, and good cheer – all respectful of the pandemic and the exigencies of our condition – but all ready for a good time and eager to help the Foundation raise money to support the less fortunate.
It was great fun. |
And as dusk settled and the cocktail hour arrived an additional 100 supporters joined the festivities, spread out, tables distanced, outside or under a tent. And while there was no dance floor, this certainly was a party.
The Doggday spirit was most definitely intact – a treasured rite of the fall, a reunion of friends and a coming together with new friends to celebrate. While mourning those we have lost, we remain relentlessly optimistic that the Foundation’s efforts make a difference. And yes there was a slimmed down auction enjoyable as always, and a band that was totally entertaining.
Our caution blossomed into another extraordinary day. We thank all of you, whether present or afar, for your generosity, moral support, and energy. Doggday ‘21 once again was a joyful celebration of Andrew and amazing financial success.
Stay safe and again thank you.
