Doggday '18 Recap

Once again Doggday was a smashing success with a turnout of over 200. Over the past fifteen years we have been blessed with extraordinary support enabling us to raise over $2.5 million dollars all of which has been donated to our causes. Thanks to you we have granted over 250 scholarships and our programs have benefitted thousands of deserving young people.

Doggday is critical to these efforts, but it is more, it celebrates Andrew’s life and his values- all of our collective values, a day that is both joyous and rewarding, that reaffirms our faith in community and our desire to help the less fortunate.

As is our custom at Doggday, we proudly presented our annual award- this year to the First Tee of Connecticut. The First Tee has been our partner since year one and done an extraordinary job in expanding its programs throughout the state and providing opportunity and life skills to over 74,000 in the last year. Mark Moriarty, the Executive Director, along with AKDF Scholar Dan Schena along with his mother joined us, and Mark graciously thanked the Foundation for our generosity and described the Chapters notable efforts.

To the so many who helped us stage and celebrate Doggday18 thank you, to all those who have been so generous over the years we are truly grateful, and to all those who have worked so tireless throughout the year to make Doggday18 special, well you are simply awesome.

Next year Doggday will be September 27, and we look forward to seeing so many of you again. We know others will be there in spirit. Thank you all for your support and guidance which drives the Andrew K Dwyer Foundation to make a difference.
