The Andrew K. Dwyer Foundation was established in February of 2003 following Andrew’s tragic death in a car accident during his sophomore year at Yale University. While Andrew possessed a tireless enthusiasm for life, he was a young man of extraordinary kindness and concern for others. Andrew’s family, friends, and admirers created the Foundation to honor him by aiding less advantaged children. The Foundation intends to support scholarships as well as athletic and extracurricular activities that provide opportunities for the less advantaged.

The Foundation will also encourage the partcipation of young people in a broad range of events designed to raise funds for the Foundation and to foster a spirit of consideration for the less advantaged. The Foundation is a tax-exempt entity that will be managed by a number of Andrew’s close friends and his family; it is expected to be of perpetual duration, grow and affect the lives of many.
